Damp Proofing
Damp proofing is the term typically used to describe the installation of preventative measures to stop damp problems occurring within a structure. Any building can be affected by damp in some form.
Damp is moisture that occurs on the inside or outside of walls and can be seen how it affects the walls.
There are many different causes of damp within our homes, not just rising damp (the type of damp often associated with damp proofing). In wetter areas the damp problem can be more severe, so it is no surprise that damp problems can become a big issue for many. Although most damp issues are much less serious than they actually look, whatever the cause,
damp can be bad for our health and the health of our property.
The correct system must be applied for damp treatment.
Rising damp solution treatments is different to penetrating damp solution and penetrating damp solutions and require a different system.
We have encountered many times that the result of the damp cause had been treated unsuccessfully, because the actual cause was never addressed for whatever reason.
You do not want the same issue re occurring and it is therefore important that a thorough inspection is done as to the cause of the damp issue.

Roof leaks/Descending Damp
These leaks are just to find the area where the ingress of water occurs and then repair or waterproof area.
Mould
The biggest cause for mould is condensation and the lack of ventilation. Condensation occurs when the inside is warmer than the outside and takes place mostly in winter. When it is cold people tend to keep windows and doors closed. When certain activities takes place within the closed environment, like showering, taking a bath, cooking and even sleeping. Moisture is released during this time and moisture droplets form and cannot dry quick enough, and that is where the mould thrives. In severe cases there will be lots of droplets on the inside of the windows of the enclosed area, where even puddles of water forms on the window sills. The best way to treat this, is to create ventilation in some way, or by installing an extractor fan, or installing a dehumidifier.
